The Best Brunette Specialist category recognises hairdressers from around the world who excel in crafting exceptional brunette transformations. This category celebrates the artistry of enhancing and refining brunette tones, delivering rich, vibrant, and trend-setting results.

CATEGORY CRITERIA

WHO CAN ENTER: This category is open to hairdressers globally specialising in brunette transformations.


WHAT TO ENTER: Submit a video, captured on smartphone, demonstrating the brunette transformation.


HOW TO ENTER: The entry process involves two steps:

  1. Social Media Submission: Post your entry/content on social media using the designated category hashtag (e.g., #DHA25_BestBrunetteSpecialist) and collaborate with the Digital Hair Awards Instagram account @digitalhairawards

  2. Online Submission: Complete the Online Submission on digitalhairawards.com, ensuring all required details are provided (you will include a link to the posted content).


If you are entering multiple categories, ensure all relevant hashtags are clearly included in your post.


Both steps must be completed for your entry to be considered.


Your entry will be approved once all steps are completed, and the approval will be confirmed when the Digital Hair Awards Instagram account accepts the collaboration invitation.


JUDGING CRITERIA:

  • Richness & Depth of Colour: How well does the stylist achieve rich, deep brunette tones?

  • Health & Shine of the Hair: Does the hair look healthy and shiny after the transformation?

  • Consistency in Work: Is the stylist’s technique consistent throughout the transformation?

  • Creativity & Trend Alignment: Is the brunette colour creative and on-trend?


SUBMISSION TIP:

  • Showcase the richness of the brunette tones using soft, diffused lighting. Emphasise the shine and health of the hair in the final reveal. Include formulations and products used in the video.

RULES

1. Eligibility

The awards are open to hairdressers and barbers globally.

Entries must be submitted by licensed professionals or individuals actively involved in the hair industry. You may enter a category more than once.


2. Awards Period

Only content created on or after 1st September, 2024 is eligible.


3. Submission Process

The entry process for the Digital Hair Awards involves two steps:


  1. Social Media Submission: Post your entry/content on social media using the designated category hashtag (e.g., #DHA25_BestBrunetteSpecialist) and collaborate with the Digital Hair Awards Instagram account @digitalhairawards

  2. Online Submission: Complete the Online Submission on digitalhairawards.com, ensuring all required details are provided (you will include a link to the posted content). 


Both steps must be completed for your entry to be considered.

4. Social Media Platform

Entries must be posted exclusively on Instagram. When completing the online registration form, you are required to provide a direct link to your Instagram post for your submission to be valid.


5. Content Specifications

Each category has specific format requirements (e.g., images, videos, carousels). Please refer to category guidelines.


Only smartphone-captured content is accepted for authenticity and accessibility.


6. Judging Criteria

Each category has its own unique set of criteria, which should guide you when creating your entry. Submissions will be evaluated based on how well they meet the specific requirements outlined in the category description.


Key factors such as technical skill, creativity, alignment with trends, and impact will be considered, but the weight of these factors may vary depending on the category. Be sure to review the criteria for your chosen category to tailor your submission accordingly.


7. Content Integrity

Light editing for brightness or contrast is permitted, but heavy filters or edits that alter the hair’s natural look are discouraged and may lead to disqualification.


All submissions should authentically represent the hairdresser's or barber’s work, and any content perceived as misleading may be reviewed for eligibility.


The work submitted must be your own, and any content that is not original or is plagiarised will be disqualified.


8. Important Deadlines 

Please refer to the Key Dates section on the homepage of www.digitalhairawards.com for the most up-to-date information on deadlines for the 2025 Digital Hair Awards.


9. Usage Rights

By entering, participants grant Digital Hair Awards the right to use submitted content for promotional purposes across various media platforms, including social media, website, print, and event-related materials.


10. Additional Rules

Entrants may submit to multiple categories, provided each submission aligns with the specific category guidelines. Entrants may also enter each category more than once.

Incomplete entries or those that do not follow the rules, such as not completing the Online submission, collaborating with the @digitalhairawards or missing the required hashtag, will not be considered.
