1. Who can enter the Digital Hair Awards?

The Digital Hair Awards is open to hairdressers and barbers globally. Entries must be submitted by licensed professionals or individuals actively involved in the hair industry. You may enter a category more than once.

2. What is the deadline for submissions?

Entries must be submitted by the deadline listed on the homepage of the DHA website. Additionally, only content posted on or after September 1, 2024, is eligible for entry.

3. How do I submit my entry?

It’s a simple two-step process:

• Social Media Submission: Post your content on Instagram using the designated category hashtag (e.g., #DHA25_BestHairShot) and invite @digitalhairawards to collaborate on your post.

• Online Submission: Complete the online submission form at digitalhairawards.com, ensuring all required details are provided, including the URL to your Instagram post.

4. What happens after I submit my entry?

Our team will review your submission to ensure all requirements are met. This includes verifying that you have:

✅ Submitted the correct content
✅ Invited @digitalhairawards to collaborate on your post
✅ Included the correct category hashtag in your caption

If everything is correct, we will approve the collaboration request and mark your entry as confirmed. If there are any issues, we will provide feedback, which you can view by logging into the portal. If we have any additional concerns, we will contact you directly.

5. What happens if my submission isn’t approved?

If your entry isn’t approved, we will provide feedback on why. You can log in to the portal to view feedback notes and make any necessary adjustments.

6. What content formats are allowed?

The required format varies by category. Submissions may include single images, carousels, or videos (shot on a smartphone). Refer to each category's criteria for specific format requirements.

7. Can I use edited content?

Light editing for brightness or contrast is allowed, but heavy filters or alterations that change the natural look of the hair are discouraged and could lead to disqualification.

8. Can I enter multiple categories?

Yes! You can enter as many categories as you’d like, as long as each submission aligns with the category’s specific requirements.

If one piece of content qualifies for multiple categories:

• Include all relevant hashtags in your Instagram post

• Send one collaboration invite to @digitalhairawards

• Submit a separate entry for each category through the Online Submission portal

 

For example, if one piece of content is eligible for three different categories, you can include all three hashtags in your caption and send one collaboration request. However, you must submit three separate entries (one per category) in the Online Submission portal.

9. Are team entries allowed?

No, entries must be submitted individually.

10. What are the judging criteria?

Each category has specific judging criteria, generally focusing on:

• Technical skill

• Creativity

• Trend alignment

• Visual impact

Some categories also emphasise storytelling or transformation clarity.

11. Are there entry fees?

Yes, there are two entry options:

• Single Entry $150 AUD (This option allows you to submit one single entry into the competition.)

• Unlimited Entries $250 AUD (This option allows you to submit as many entries as you like across any eligible categories during the 2025 DHA season.)

12. Can I submit pre-existing content?

Yes, as long as the content was created on or after September 1, 2024, and aligns with the specific category guidelines.

13. Can I edit my submission after entering?

Once submitted, entries are generally final. If you need to make edits, contact the DHA support team at dha@mdivision.com.au before the submission deadline to see if changes can be accommodated.

14. Can I withdraw my entry?

Yes, if you need to withdraw your entry, please email dha@mdivision.com.au to request removal.

15. What if my Instagram account is private?

Your Instagram account must be set to public for your entry to be eligible.

​

16. Do I need permission from my clients/models?

Yes, you must have permission from any clients or models featured in your submission.

17. How will winners be announced?

Winners will be revealed on the Digital Hair Awards website and social media channels. Stay tuned for announcements on the exact date and time!
